After the long winter, Spring is finally here. This is commonly the time of year when the spring-cleaning itch makes itself known. Below we’ve listed four areas often left out of the annual deep clean.
Pillows
Whether it’s a decorative throw pillow or where you lay your head at the end of the day, dead skin, dust mites, food, mold, and other filth, call this space home. Look at the pillows’ labels for care instructions to see if they can be thrown in the wash. Or consider buying pillowcases and covers that can be regularly washed.
Electronics
How many electronic devices do you use daily? And how often do you clean them? Phones, keyboards, tablets, remotes, and other devices are often ignored or left off the “to clean” list. Always research the best way to clean your electronics, but by washing your hands with soap or using a hand sanitizer, you can help prevent the spread of germs and bacteria to these devices.
Switches & Handles
These areas are considered “high traffic” but are rarely cleaned enough. Using a disinfectant and cloth, you can quickly clean these germ-infested areas.
Ceiling Fans & Air Vents
Out of sight and out of mind is often why these areas are neglected when it comes to cleaning. However, once a year, their cleaning should be a priority. Wipe down the edges of the fans and their blades. If you begin to notices excess dust or dirt around your house, it can be a sign that your air ducts may need a cleaning.
Spring brings with it longer days spent in the sun, the scent of freshly blooming flowers, and the promise of better days ahead. It can be inspiring, and you may find yourself opening the windows and pulling out your cleaning supplies. To do it properly, we’re here to help.
